Ten Reasons You’re Not Smart Enough To Work At Home

If you are reading this you probably have already made a mess of your efforts to work at home. Please be aware that this is an attempt to tell it to you as it is. This is not for the feint of heart. That is probably why you got in trouble trying to work from home to begin with. This is where you find out what you are doing wrong, and what you can do to change it.

Here are ten reasons your not smart enough to work at home and what you can do to turn yourself into a self made work at home success story.

1. You’re a sucker – That’s right, you fall for every get rich quick scheme that comes along. Don’t listen to that nonsense that you can make thousands of dollars a week doing nothing. In most cases the only one getting rich here is the con artist selling you that get rich quick pitch. Start to use your head and learn to rely on the instincts that got you this far in your life. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Don’t be a sucker.

2. You’re not computer literate – Join the club. That’s how most people start out on the Internet. If you nine-year-old child or grandchild can operate a computer, and navigate their way around the Internet so can you. Get some free lessons from your kids or friends. You don’t need to know that much to get started. The rest you can learn as you go.

3. You freeze up – Are we talking sexually or when you have to follow a command on the Internet? What did you do when your boss at work told you to do something? Did you freeze up or try and accomplish the task set out for you.

4. You keep reading – And reading and reading. There is so much information out there that it is confusing you. You don’t know what to believe. Start doing something. Experience will win out over reading about it time after time. Take some action.

5. You can’t decide – Is your problem you can’t decide what to have for lunch, or what business to go into working at home? Try and find something that you like to do, something that fits in with your interests and hobbies. Make a decision.

6. What do you sell – Who said you had to sell anything. Maybe you should give your information away and rely on pay per click income or affiliate sales once you create traffic to your site, or maybe you just want to sell the Web site or blog because due to the brilliant information you are dispensing you are getting a lot of traffic. Get some traffic first.

7. You have no Web site – You can find someone to put it up for you called a Web master or you can get an affiliate site to sell other people’s products for very little, or you can start a blog, which you can do without knowing any html. Setting up a blog is as simple as painting by the numbers. Give yourself a voice on the Internet. Set up a blog.

8. You don’t have an address- Do you mean you are homeless or you don’t have a domain name? If it is the former you are going to have real problems working from home. If it is the later you can buy one for a few dollars. First decide what you want to offer. Some people have even set up online businesses working from Internet public access from the library. Stop using excuses.

9. You don’t have a product – You do, but you don’t know what it is yet or how to make it. Somewhere rolling around in your mind is the knowledge to make an information product in the form of an e-book you can sell or give away to get more traffic to get people to buy something else. You are the product.

10. You’re not organized – Now you are starting to tell the truth. Make a list of things you need to do to start your own work at home business. What you need is a plan and some good advise. Would you change jobs without a plan or checking out what you are doing with someone you trust? Get an organizer and use it to make a plan.

Starting to work at home on the Internet is only going to work if you employ the skills that got you to this point in your life to begin with. It doesn’t matter if you are a stay at home parent, a retired Baby Boomer, or recently kicked out of a shrinking work force. Working at home in your own business, you are the new boss. You set your on hours, come up with your own products, and market your ideas on the Internet based on your knowledge, skills, and willingness to learn new things. If you do this right, plan it out, and rely on yourself and sound advise to find the right answers, you will be become smart enough to be successful working from home. Now let’s get started.

What Do I Do Now - I Just Set Up My Blog?

If you show this to your wife or your partner and they say, "The blog looks good. What do we do next?" the answer is:

What we have to do next is to get people or traffic to our wonderful new blog so that we can generate interest either in something we want to sell down the road or information we want to give away so that we can make money when people click on our google adsense ads.

In my case I prefer the idea of giving information away to begin with in order to create a following. I can tell people what I have to offer by using pay per click advertising or doing an e-mail campaign. Both of these cost money.

I don't mind giving information away as long as it isn't costing me anything, but my time so I choose to create traffic by writing articles about my area of interest - guess what that is - and posting my blog address at the bottom of the article (resource box) so people can click on it and come to my blog. You don't need to be a writer to do this. You just need to have an interest in and knowledge of a particular area of interest.

Let's say for example your area of interest is fly fishing.

You could start by saying:

Please feel free to use this article as long as credit is given to the resource box
(C) Copyright Jack Smith, 2008
Keywords: Fly Fishing, Hooks, Tricks, Secrets of
Words: I recommend articles of 500 to 1000

Then write the article about whatever information you want to share with your readers about fly fishing in short to the point paragraphs. I do not recommend you pay attention to keywords at first. Just say what you have to say naturally.

Then end by saying something like:

Hi, this is Jack Smith. If you would like to find out more of my secrets on fly fishing please visit http://jsflyfishing.blogspot.com (There is no www in a blog address)

There are many ways to refine this and things to add, but this should be enough for now. You can hot link your URL with ahref etc, but that may confuse you and most article directories worth their salt do this for you automatically.

Try and come up with a snappy title and using a list of 10 things to do or how to do seven things to help you catch a fish are often good ways to go.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you to submit the article to at least 10 Article Distribution houses interested in fly fishing otherwise no one is going to see it. You can find the lists on google or yahoo groups. This is called making a submission. Don't forget to read their submission guidelines. It takes time at first, but it can really be worth it in terms of creating traffic that will last for years.

A partial list of who I would submit to would include
www.alumbo.com
www.arrivenet.com
www.articlebase.com
www.amazines.com
www.ideamarketer.com
www.ezinearticles.com
www.goarticles.com
www.selfgrowth.com
www.xomba.com

If you have any questions, please post them in the comment section, and I will try and answer them.

Arthur

How To Get Started Working From Home

The easy way to get started working from home is to start your own blog or Website. Putting up a Website can be a daunting task for a first timer and may cost a fair amount of money if you hire a professional Web master to do it for you.

I suggest a blog, which is almost like painting by the numbers to start. I use Blogspot as you can see, because they are tied in to google and easy to use. You can chose from a number of others if you wish. Just go to google and check out blogs in the search box. You can also do this on Yahoo or MSNBC.

The first thing to do is to decide what content you want to put on your blog. What do you know a lot about that you can share with others?

You can write articles and promote your blog all over the Internet using your blog URL in a resource box at the end of the article - more about how to do that later.

You can make money on your blog either selling an information product like an e-book or giving your information away and using google adsense to generate income.

Go to google and check out google adsense. They put ads on your blog and pay you when the ads are clicked on. A word of caution. It is best to operate your blog for a while, post some content, and get some traffic coming to your blog before you apply to google to put adsense in. They really do look at what your blog or Web site is doing.

To start, decide what you want to talk about, set up a blog, and start writing. You don't have to be a writer to do this. All you need is special knowledge on some subject of interest to people.

There is a lot more. I am still learning myself. We will go over my experiences one by one so you can benefit from my trial and error progress.

Be of good heart. It is all worth it, and good luck.

I Can't Believe It - I'm working at home

It is hard for me to accept the fact that I am finally starting to make a little money working from home.

It has taken me a long time, and a lot of futile searching for instant riches to realize nothing happens over night no matter what someone is promising you.

For a long time I thought I could find riches with automatic no work schemes. It didn't work that way for me.

What I did find was that if I followed my instincts and did what made sense to me, I could make a living on line.

I think the key thing is for you to do something that is of particular interest to you. Follow your hobbies or interests. Do something you like to do. Share your knowledge with others. Information products are a good way to go, and easy to produce. How well you sell them or derive income from them from google adsense is a matter of marketing.

You are going to have to learn how to market yourself and your products, if you want to work from home on the Internet.

This blog is dedicated to helping you find your way around the maize of get rich quick offerings so that you can find the opportunity that is right for you.
